PHDCCI takes up Jammu centric issues with Div Com

JAMMU, May 9: The members of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Jammu called on Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Sanjeev Verma here today.
The delegation had earlier presented a memorandum to Mr Verma asking for rationalization of Jammu Master Plan. The purpose of the meeting was to deliberate upon the issue by the Divisional Commissioner with the PHDCCI. The Chamber stressed for expeditious extension of runway at Jammu Airport, up-gradation of ILS system at Jammu Airport to ILS-3, creation ofvisitors car parking/pick-up and drop off at Jammu Airport, expeditious completion of 8- laning of Jammu- Akhnoor Highway, provision of better road from Bakshi Nagar Bridge to Toph Sherkhanian Bridge.
PHDCCI stressed on early completion of Katra-Banihal Rail Link, introduction of Jammu-Delhi and Jammu- Chandigarh Shatabadi Train, Jammu-Amritsar Chair Car Train. The Chamber requested for operationalization of Street Lights across Jammu City.
Kuldeep Gupta asked that various tourist circuits be created and operationalized at the earliest viz., Veer Bhadreshwar, Budha Amarnath, Mangla Mata, Chingus Fort, Shadra Sharief , Mughal Road Circuit, Bani- Basholi, Sukrala Mata, Mansar, Suiransar, Doda, Kishtwar- Sinthan Pass Circuit, the roads to Suiransar, Mansar and Purmandal be repaired and upgraded, the Festivals of Jammu as well as Tourist activities like Light and Laser Show be arranged at Mubarak Mandi & Shree Raghunath Ji temple and same to be projected outside the state for attraction of tourists.
The Chamber further stressed upon general up-keep/cleanness of Jammu City, creation of sports facilities, play grounds in Jammu City, beautification of roads, inter- connecting Akhnoor highway with Southern Bye pass (Vijaypur- Jagti), extension of Flyover on Jammu -Akhnoor Highway up to 4th Bridge or Chander Bagha Community Hall, assumption of work on Jammu Zoo, early commissioning of rope way on Bahu and Mubarakh Mandi and upgrading of Mughal Road, including tunnel, all whether roads for smooth traffic operations.
Divisional Commissioner gave a point to point reply to all concerns raised by Chamber and assured that issues raised shall be addressed at the earliest .
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Commissioner, Ramesh Kumar, General Manager NHIDCL, Vijay Kumar, Vikas Sharma, Commissioner JMC, Director Toursim, functionaries of PDD, PHE, Tourism, Airport Authority of India Limited, Railways and others.
The delegation was accompanied by Nandan Khuthiala, Sanjay Gupta, Vivek Bhardwaj and Aditya Vaid.
