DODA, Apr 4: Demanding filling up of the vacant post of gynecologist in Sub District Hospital Bhaderwah, the members of Youth Action Committee (YAC) Bhaderwah held protest and blocked the vehicular movement on the Bhaderwah-Doda road.
Large number of YAC members along with locals assembled at Domail area on Bhaderwah-Doda road and held protest. They were demanding filling up of the vacant post of gynecologist in SDH Bhaderwah.
Amid slogans against the district administration, the protestors also blocked the vehicular movement on the Bhaderwah-Doda road for couple of hours, leading to long traffic jam.
While talking to media persons, YAC President Naseer Mehboob flayed the Government for its casual approach to appoint a gynecologist in SDH Bhaderwah.
“Posted around 10 days back, the gynecologist is not joining its duty at SDH Bhaderwah, due to which female patients especially the pregnant ladies are facing manifold problems”, he added.
On getting information, police team rushed to the spot and detained several members of the YAC for blocking the road and creating miseries for the people traveling from Bhaderwah to Doda and vice versa.
The members of the YAC namely Rohit Sharma, Sheikh Mushtaq Ahmed, Owais Chowdhary, Kamran Khan, Mohammad Hussain and Sheikh Arif were detained by the police and later released, when the issue got sorted out.
When contacted ADC Bhaderwah told that a lady gynecologist has been posted at SDH Bhaderwah from District Hospital Doda, but she has not joined the hospital, due to which the people got agitated.
“She will join the hospital in couple of days and till then, Director Health Services Jammu has posted Dr Girdhari Lal as Incharge Gynecologist at SDH Bhaderwah”, he said, adding that that matter also stands taken up with the higher authorities for early redressal.
