REASI, July 23: Irate over the scheduled and unscheduled power cuts the residents of Arnas today took out a protest rally through the main bazaars of the area.
A large number of people including men, women and children participated in the protest rally to express their anger towards Power Development Department (PDD).
Raising slogans against the PDD, the protesters said even in the month of holy Ramzan people are facing acute power shortage. The power remains off even in night hours and the public particularly aged and new borns are suffering badly in this hot and humid weather due to the carelessness of PDD employees.
Later, the protesters submitted a memorandum to Tehsildar Arnas, Farooq Khan, who pacified the protesters by assuring that the issue will be taken up with the higher authorities of PDD for early redressal.
