KATHUA, Dec 20: The residents of Ward Number 3 held protest against PHE Department.
The residents including women blocked the road and raised slogans in favour of their demands.
One of the protesting women namely Rachna Bhagat said that they are facing acute shortage of drinking water. “How can we survive and send our children to schools without availability of drinking water”, she questioned.
After getting information, a police team led by SHO Kathua Anil Sharma rushed to the spot and assured the protesting people to take up their issue with concerned authorities.
Meanwhile, a deputation of women drawn from border villages Gair met DC Kathua and highlighted the issue of shortage of drinking water.
DC Kathua directed the PHE Department to redress the grievances of the people at the earliest.
