People protest over erratic power supply

BHADERWAH, Nov 30: The residents held a massive protest demonstration against Power Development Department (PDD) at Seri Bazaar, here today.
The protesters assembled at Seri Bazaar and raised slogans against PDD. They were demanded uninterrupted power supply.
Janata Dal Secular State president, NC district secretary Choudhary Shabir Ahmed, social worker Sohail Sadeqi, Fayaz Surawardi, Abdul Jafiz Fani, retd ZEO, Abdul Haq Zargar, social worker, Mansoor Qadir, Nirbek Singh and Shakti Kumar, Youth Leaders, besides many others participated in the protest and addressed the gathering.
While speaking, the speakers said that people are facing manifold problems due to unscheduled power cuts of over 18 hours in a day. “The Department doesn’t adhere to the schedule due to which the students preparing for examination are facing hardships”, they added.
When PDD installed meters, we were told that we will get power supply round the clock, but their promise turned out to be a hoax, they said, adding that situation in un-metered and remote villages of Bhaderwah is worst.
The protesters warned the authorities of launching agitation if the power situation is not improved by taking effective measures.
