X-Ray Technicians hold convention, highlight demands

JAMMU, Nov 30: A convention of X-Ray Technicians’ Association was held today in the complex of Directorate of Health Services Jammu, wherein speakers highlighted demands of X-Ray Technicians.
The convention was chaired by Sushil Sudan, president, Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation (JKMEF), Jammu Province. Vinod Kumar Sharma, sectary general and Parfulat Singh, general secretary, were also present in the convention.
Representatives from all district and blocks attended the convention and highlighted the burning demands and problems being faced by the X-Ray Technicians, which included clearance of DPC pending for 7 years, filling up the vacant posts of X-ray boy and technicians, creation of posts of Technician Supervisor in the Oncology of Government Medical College Jammu and X-Ray wing in the Health Department.
The speakers also demanded creation of posts of Supervisor/X-Ray Technicians in SDHs, issuance of film badges to all employees working in X-ray Section, change of nomenclature from X-ray Technicians to Radio Technologist in Health Department, initiating course of BSc Radio Graphy through Department and encashment of Risk allowance @ 10% of the basic pay.
Meanwhile, X-Ray Technicians unanimously elected their provincial body viz. Harpal Singh as president, Surinder Sharma as senior vice president, Kuldeep Kumar as vice president, Liaqat Ali as general sectary, Sukal Sharma as secretary, Vinod Sharma as secretary, Neelam Kumari as joint secretary, Rahul Manhas as organizer, Mohd Asif as city secretary and Som Dum and Vinayak as cashiers.
After framing the body the whole delegation met the Director Health Services, Jammu under the leadership of Sushil Sudan and discussed their burning demands. The Director listened the demands with patience and assured to fulfill those which come under his jurisdiction.
