People protest for regular drinking water, uninterrupted electricity

JAMMU, July 17: The residents of Jammu West Assembly Constituency held protest under Sunil Dimple, president Jammu West Assembly Movement.
The residents alleged that there was acute scarcity of drinking water while power supply was also erraticin and demanded that both the services should be restored at an earliest. Raising slogans against the Government the residents warned to start indefinite agitation against the ERA, PHE and PDD.
While addressing, Dimple alleged that repeated requests to concerned quarters have fallen on deaf ears. He demanded  immediate start of work on Chenab Water Project as river Tawi is not meeting the requirement of the Jammu city because water level in the river Tawi is receding continuously. He alleged that MPs and MLAs of Jammu were not taking up the Chenab Water Project with the Central Government.
He demanded there should be no power shut down at Seetli Filtration Plant from where water is supplied to the whole Jammu city.  He also demanded the immediate installation of new 50 MWT receiving power station at Janipur grid station to avoid scheduled and unscheduled power cuts in the Jammu city in general and the Jammu West Assembly Constituency in pareticular.
