SRINAGAR, Mar 25: The National Conference general secretary Ali Mohd Sagar today said that there is no let-up in the everyday injustices committed on people, saying every section of the society, particularly the youth are bearing it.
Sagar said this while addressing the party functionaries and workers who had called on him here at the party office Srinagar from across Kashmir province.
The functionaries apprised Sagar of the underway activities of the local party units in their respective Halqas, Blocks and Zones. The visiting delegations also apprised the general secretary about the wide range of administrative and developmental issues concerning people in their respective districts. Sagar, who gave a patient hearing to the visiting delegations, assured them the party leadership, MPs, State, Provincial and Zonal level functionaries will take up all the issues concerning them all appropriate forums. He told the visiting delegations that the party raises the issues of public importance forcefully at every forum including the Lok Sabha.
Interacting with the workers, Sagar said that with each passing day the wide insecurities of the people are sharpening. “The outsourcing of jobs and issuance of majority of mineral and mining blocks to non-locals, disengagement of employees, new media policy, opening up of big retail outlets, and manifold increase in tolls and tariffs on public utility services have further deepened the insecurities of our people, particularly youth,” he said.
Referring to August 5 decision, Sagar said the administration has exposed the region to the risk of blowing its hard-won gains with regards to peace, development, governance. “The figures about escalating levels of unemployment released by the government’s own institutions lay bare how depressing the employment, development and governance scenario is in J&K.
He said the government has turned blind eye to the daily issues concerning people, particularly the poor.
“Administration is busy in window dressing. People don’t know where to go to seek redressal of the issues confronting them. We stand by our commitment with our people in Jammu, Chenab, Pir Panjal, Kashmir, Ladakh,” he added.
