JAMMU, Mar 25: District president of Congress party from Ramban, Farooq Ahmed Katoch has resigned from his post and also from the primary membership of the party.
In a letter flashed to the JKPCC president, Ghulam Ahmed Mir today, Farooq Katoch cited reason behind his resignation as non-serious approach of the party high command with regard to J&K and sidelining of senior AICC leader Ghulam Nabi Azad. He said party can not survive in J&K without the role of Azad.
Katoch said even several formers ministers and legislators had resigned from their posts in the recent past reposing faith in the leadership of Azad in J&K. But the party ignored the real facts. Despite repeated requests to the party high command in Delhi, the top leadership appeared to be non-serious, which forced him to tender resignation, Katoch claimed.
