Pensioners submit memorandum to Govt

JAMMU, Jan 22: Delegation of J&K State Pensioners’ and Senior Citizen Welfare Forum headed by it’s president, Mir Ghulam Rasool Butwani submitted a memorandum and demand charter to Chief Secretary here in Civil Secretariat today.
The delegation urged for early redressal of the demands which included payment of Medical Allowance at par with Central Government employees as Rs 1000 per month.
It demanded that the pension table fixed by the Government in terms of SRO 138 dated 25.04 16 be modified up to the extent that pensioners should get 100 percent of pension at least from the age of 70.
It further demanded that Mediclaim Insurances Scheme be implemented.
The memorandum while highlighting the problems said pensioners are suffering due to delay in settlement of their pension papers by the AG authority, demanded opening of day care at district level and other benefits at par with Central Pesioners as being UT. The other members of the delegation included D N Sadu secretary of the Forum and its senior Member Haji Mohammed Sultan Mir.
