SRINAGAR, June 7: The J&K Pensioners and Senior Citizens Welfare Federation in a meeting at Kangan Ganderbal today discussed long pending demands of the state pensioners.
The meeting which was chaired by Abdul Rehman Hajam demanded immediate release of seven percent DA in favour of pensioners, second installment of 6th Pay Commission arrears, release of Pay Commission arrears to state pensioners on the pattern of Central Government pensioners, enhancement of Medical Allowance to Rs 1000 per month, implementation of mediclaim insurance policy and settling of other demands.
Addressing the meeting Mir Ghulam Rasool Batwani patron of the Federation urged the working class to maintain unity. He cautioned them against the vested interests who have harmed the cause of working class for their individual interests.
The meeting among others was attended by Ghulam Mohammed Khan, secretary of the Federation unit Kangan, Ghulam Qadir Wani, Mohammed Shaban and Javed Ahmed Shah district president LPEF Ganderbal.
