JAMMU, Dec 21: All J&K PDL/TDL and Workers Union members, affiliated to J&K Power Employees and Engineers Coordination Committee , held protest demonstration and meeting wherein they discussed their burning issues related to issuance of seniority list and early conduct of DPC.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Akhil Sharma, State president, and attended by Shamsher Singh vice president, Swami Raj vice president, Sheesh Kumar, Bilal Amed, Choudhary Farooq, Asish Verma, Sajid Chib among others. While welcoming the move of the Chief Engineer JPDCL to issue the combined seniority of the PDL/TDL and other workers on the basis of their dates of engagement as per the rules and vogue, they sought that maximum vacancies should be filled through DPC at an earliest so that no further delay is done.
The members of the union were of the opinion that final seniority should be issued immediately after completion of 21 days and whatever justified objections are there should be incorporated and DPCs against the vacant posts should be done.
It is pertinent to mention that there are 12000 daily wagers whom Government has assured that they will be regularized as per the DPC, therefore, the DPCs should be held soon and maximum vacant posts at all levels should be utilized.
Further the issue of pending wages of the 871 PDL/TDL must be resolved as Managing Director JPDCL has already sough funds for clearing this liability and this had been passed duly by the Board of Directors of JPDCL. The ex-gratia relief of the deceased employees who have met electrical accidents while on duty should also be released early as lot of cases have piled up in both Jammu and Kashmir regions.
The welfare fund facility which was supposed to be extended to the PDL/TDL workers has not been done till date and matter is pending for directions from administrative department in JKPTCL.
While speaking on the occasion all the members vowed full support to the efforts of the J&K Power Employees and Engineers Coordination Committee and congratulated it for having been a voice of all the employees throughout this last one year.
The 20000 employees of the PDD deputation to these carved out corporations, therefore looking forward to JKPEECC for getting their genuine issues redressed on priority.
