JAMMU, Sept 4: Senior Congress leader and former MLA, Indu Pawar today exhorted upon the people to teach BJP a lesson in the upcoming Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) and Panchayat elections for backstabbing residents of Jammu region.
Addressing a series of public meetings at Ward Number 3 of the Jammu Municipal Corporation in connection with the party’s mass contact programme today, Pawar said that illegal collection of Toll tax, smart meters, and property tax are BJP’s gifts to the people of Jammu region who voted the Saffron brigade overwhelmingly in the 2014 and 2019 elections.
“Now people of the Jammu region have realized, BJP has not only cheated them but also played with their emotions by raking up emotive issues”, she said and exuded confidence that residents of Jammu region are anxiously waiting for an opportunity to teach a lesson to the BJP for its deceitful tactics and cunning attitude.
During these series of meetings, the former MLA urged the people to ask BJP leaders questions about prevailing unprecedented unemployment, corruption, price rise, smart meters, property tax and toll tax.
Cautioning people against the deceitful tactics of the BJP, the Congress leader said that instead of touching issues of unemployment, corruption, price rise, smart meters, property tax, and toll tax, the BJP leaders would try to rake emotive issues to divert peoples’ attention.

The party leaders who spoke on the occasion included Pranav Shahotra, former PYC president, Tamanna from Congress Seseva Dal, Sushant, Jyoti Vaid, Chander Shekher and Ramakant Khajuria.
