UDHAMPUR, June 7: Minister of State for Finance and IT, Pawan Gupta said that foundations of various important issues have been laid which would yield fruits in the time to come.
He said this while addressing a public gathering during a function here. The function was organized by prominent citizens of the district to felicitate the Minister.
He took a dig over former MLA Udhampur for the current situation of roads, electricity and education in the district during the function.
Gupta further stated that the post of MLA and Minister attached with his name is a result of the hard work and selfless efforts by his workers and people of Udhampur. He assured to continue the work for the betterment of his constituency and State.
Ramanand Baria of Beopar Mandal, Dr Ratan Chand Nagar of Jagriti Old Age Home, Sham Kalsotra, President Chamber of Commerce, retired District Education Officer PL Suri, social worker Surinder Singh Khalsa, Susheel Singh Sethi, Incharge Women Cell BJP Nisha Mahajan, Constituency incharge Raj Kumar Buccha, Raju Chandel, Balwan Singh, Gurubaksh, Laldeen, Lalchand and Rohit Sethi were also present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, the Minister also paid floral tribute to great saint Sat Guru Kabir Ji Maharaj in a function organized by Sad Guru Kabir Sabha, Baryal to commemorate 617th Parkash Utsav of Saint Kabir here today.
On the occasion, Gupta highlighted the contribution of Saint Kabir towards establishment of a harmonious society based on social and economic justice.
President Kabir Sabha Udhampur, Ram Lal Bhagat put forth various problem and demands which included construction of link road from Baryal main road to Kabir Bhawan, Gazetted holiday of Sadguru Kabir Sahib, etc.
Gupta assured the society to take up their genuine problems and demands with concerned for their early redressal.
Minister also distributed mementoes and certificate to meritorious students of the community. Special Kabir Award was given to Lamberdar Baryal, Jia Lal.
On the occasion, a satsang by Swami Milkhi Ram Bhagat from Gorda and Swami Vijay Bhagat from Jalander on the life and teachings of Bhagat Kabir was also held.
State President, Bhagat Mahasabha, Chairman, Kabir Sabha Udhampur, Ved Parkash, Senior Vice President, Chuni Lal, Youth President, Raj Kumar, Treasurer, Om Parkash, General Secretary, Durga Dass, Secretary, Kuldeep Kumar, President block and tehsil level, members of the Sabha, Sarpanches, panches and representatives of other social and religious organizations besides large number of devotees attended the function.
Earlier, a huge number of enthusiastic men, women and children participated in the Shoba Yatra of Sadguru Kabir.
