UDHAMPUR, Sept 14: MLA Udhampur and former Minister, Pawan Gupta today said that he discussed various issues confronting the people of the State especially Jammu region with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh during his recent visit to the State.
Talking to reporters here, Gupta said he apprised the Home Minister about the present political scenario of the State, put forth his views on the present political situational in Kashmir. He also raised the issue of discrimination in every sphere i.e. development, equitable distribution of funds, providing of jobs to the unemployed with Jammu region.
Gupta said he took to task the BJP and lambasted the present Cabinet and MLAs of BJP who he alleged have become mute spectators and subservient to dictates of Kashmir centric politics .He raised the issue of discrimination with Jammu in all developmental matters pertaining to all 27 departments of the Government.
He also apprised the Home Minister that during the last two budget sessions he had raised the issue of discrimination with Jammu region on the floor of the House but BJP members have become mute spectators and fully succumbed to pressure of Kashmir centric politics. He further alleged that BJP has beaten all records of NC and Congress in ending the discrimination with Jammu region in matters of appointment made by J&K PSC and that even during NC-Congress regime Jammu region never got less 40% of gazetted jobs but the present dispensation has lowered down the share of Jammu region to merely 16-20% .
He also stated before the Home Minister that he had vehemently objected to the appointment of present chairman of J&K PSC but BJP became a party to his appointment lowering the dignity of seat of PSC Chairman by appointing a KAS Officer on the post the result of which have been seen in recent times that Jammu has been subjugated to being a colony of Kashmir and appointment ratio whittling down to mere 16-20 % as against 80-84% of Kashmir region. He accused the BJP ministers of remaining mute spectator when Ms Mehbooba Mufti called those people as anti national who objected Article 370. He urged the Home Minister to put a stop to transfer industry being run by ministers in the State as frequent transfers affect the developmental works.
