SRINAGAR, Feb 11: Patients have to face a lot of trouble as doctors posted at District Hospital Handwara in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district stayed home.
The patients said for the last three days the doctors preferred to stay at home, causing immense trouble to them.
Block Medical Officer Handwara, Dr Rouf Bhat, however, contested the patients complaints.
“All the doctors who were scheduled to be present in these three days had come for duty to see the patients,” Dr Bhat said.
Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Itrat Hussain said some doctors might have stayed home because of curfew, but the health care at the Hospital was not affected.
Similarly, patients from Sopore said that the Gynaecologist posted at the Mother Care Hospital has not shown her face in the last three days.
They said the pregnant women who had come for checkups amid crossing scores of curfew hassles had to face lot of hardships.
The patients said that Block Medical Officer, Sopore, Dr. Syed Masood, has also been off the duty from the last three days.
