JAMMU, Feb 11: An area measuring 3.48 lakh kanals has been approved by the Government for vesting of ownership to the occupants by the concerned District Price Fixation Committees under Roshni Scheme in the State and an amount of Rs. 7651 lakh has been deposited by the occupants as reported by the concerned Divisional Commissioner.
The information was given by the Minister of State for Revenue, Ajaz Ahmad Khan while replying to a question by Jehangir Hussain Mir in Legislative Council today.
The Minister disclosed that 75401 applications are pending in the state for giving the rights of land to the occupants under the scheme. He further said that since ‘Grow More Food Scheme’ being a separate programme, the land allotted to farmers under the scheme is not normally being covered under Roshni and there is no proposal to bring such lands within the ambit of Roshni scheme.
Ghulam Qadir Pardesi and Ravinder Sharma raised the supplementaries. The Minister assured to expedite the work on clearance of pending cases.
