JAMMU, Jan 24: The State Government has constituted a Committee for Selection of new Vice-Chancellor of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology (SKUAST), Jammu as tenure of the incumbent, Dr Pardeep K Sharma is ending by March 9.
According to a formal order in this regard, issued by the Agriculture Production Department, the Selection Committee shall draw up a panel of names for appointment as vice-Chancellor of SKUAST-Jammu.
The Selection Committee is comprising of Dr Rameshwar Singh, Vice-chancellor of Bihar Animal Sciences University, Patna (nominee of the Chancellor); Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR), Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi; Chairman University Grants Commission (or his nominee) and Lokesh Dutt Jha, Vice-Chairman /Director General, J&K Institute of Management, Public Administration and Rural Development.
Dr Rameshwar Singh shall also act as Convenor of the Selection committee, which has been constituted in exercise of the powers conferred by the Sub-Section (1) of Section 25 of the SKUAST Act, 1982.
