JAMMU, Aug 29: “Pakistan’s only purpose at the moment is to divert the attention of the world from its internal situation and to push terrorists inside Indian territory before the onset of winter season”.
This was stated by Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, President, Panun Kashmir (PK), while addressing a meeting of Political Affairs Committee (PAC) of PK, which was chaired by its Chairman Prof ML Raina.
Chrungoo said that the NC Government’s eagerness to push a resolution in the State assembly advocating Indo-Pak talks in the face of peaceful Indian citizens being subjecting to cross fire and shelling is unjustifiable and absolutely uncalled for, adding that Pakistan has made no progress in so far as the prosecution of 26/11 accused is concerned.
Pakistan has not fulfilled its commitment given to the Indian Government that the territory under its control won’t be used for fomenting terrorism against India, he said, adding that in fact more and more terror groups are pushed into the Indian territory by Pakistan by providing them covering fire and the recent acts of terror across the valley particularly in Kupwara district is a testimony of the fact that lot of men and material have already been brought into the Indian territory.
In the recent days, huge cache of arms and ammunition and other equipments have been captured by the security forces at various places, he said, adding that this points towards the sinister designs of Pakistan and under these circumstances any engagement with it would serve no purpose.
Virender Raina, national spokesperson, PK said that the salience of Pakistan in Kashmir affairs has to be minimized. He stated that the Government needs to create conditions whereby Pakistan and the secessionist elements are not able to influence and mislead the general populace of Kashmir.
Pakistan needs to be told in unequivocal manner that Kashmir is an integral part of India and would remain so till eternity, he added.
On the occasion, Chrungoo, Virender Raina along with JL Kaul, vice president, Upinder Kaul, general secretary, Kamal Bagati, organizing secretary, Vijay Qazi, Ramesh Kaul, PN Pandita, Ravinder Punjabi and Sameer Bhat released ‘PK News Letter’.
