JAMMU, Feb 23: Condemnation of Pulwama terror attack by United Nations Security Council and its assertion to bring the culprits to justice, indicates that a strong consensus is being developed against terrorism and that any nation supporting such act can no more be given freedom to nurture terror and killings.
This was stated by former Deputy Chief Minister and BJP senior leader, Kavinder Gupta, while making a scathing attack on Kashmir-based political parties, which have not come openly against the Pulwama attack and are more concerned for those raising anti-India slogans and trying to communalize the peaceful atmosphere in the State.
Kavinder Gupta said that world today stands with India and favours action against Pakistan, while NC, PDP and separatists in Valley advocate holding talks with it, which clearly exposed them for their callous approach towards the martyrdom of Indian security men. He said that India has been extending a hand of friendship and wanted talks with the neighbouring country but it never responded in positive manner and always back tracked from its promises.
The entire world knows that Atal Behari Vajpayee, during his tenure as PM of India, made serious efforts to create cordial relation with Pakistan and took lead by going to Islamabad in “Karvan-e-Aman” bus but the result was Kargil.
The present Prime Minister, Narendra Modi too made honest efforts to have peace with Pakistan for which talks were held but Pakistan neither dismantled terrorist training camps and launching pads, nor it took action against the heads of terrorist outfits, Kavinder said and added that Pakistan does not understand the language of friendship and peace. It cannot be trusted any more and there can be no more talks with it until it stops supporting and abetting terrorism.
How the Kashmir based leaders repeatedly ask for holding talks with Pakistan when our country is suffering continuously due to proxy war waged by it, which clearly indicated that the neighbouring country was never serious for peace and friendship with India, Kavinder said.
