JAMMU, Dec 24: Senior Advocate Gourav Pachnanda today resigned from the post of Senior Additional Advocate General of the J&K State before the Supreme Court with immediate effect.
In his resignation letter, sent to the Advocate General of the State and the Law Secretary to the Government, no reasons were cited by Mr Pachnanda for quitting the job.
Mr Pachnanda represented Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and the State Government in all extra-sensitive cases, including the Bedi Commission of Enquiry into the death of Haji Yousuf.
He was widely believed to be one of the key legal advisors to the outgoing coalition Government in Jammu and Kashmir.
Pertinent to mention here that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also submitted his resignation to Governor N N Vohra today, a day after declaration of the Assembly election results.
