RAMBAN, Feb 17: An over speeding truck hit several vehicles on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, leaving two persons seriously injured, under the jurisdiction of police station Chanderkote.

The mishap occurred at about 2 AM during the intervening night of Thursday and Friday at Dhalwas near Sarka Minder, police sources said. They said that one truck bearing registration number JK05H-5050, driven in a rash and negligent manner by an unknown driver from Jammu towards Srinagar hit a truck (JK02W-4645) and three Tata Mobile vehicles (bearing registration numbers JK03D-0805, JK139-2199 and JK03L-4743), which were stranded on the highway due to traffic jam.
They said the intensity of the collision was so strong that one of the Tata Mobile vehicles (involved in the accident) rolled down the road and plunged into the road side gorge, resulting into critical injuries to its driver and conductor. The injured persons were identified as Mohd Abass son of Sabir Ali and Mohd Sadiq son of Sakhi Mohd, both residents of Makhanpur (R S Pura, Jammu).
On getting the information of the accident, a police team from police station Chanderkote reached the spot and shifted the injured persons to District Hospital Ramban, from where they were referred to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for further medical treatment.
In this connection, a case FIR Number 21/2022 under Sections 279/337 of IPC was registered at police station Chanderkote and further investigation started.
