Over 74, 000 students appear in class 10 exams

Srinagar, Nov 20: Amid bone-chilling cold, thousands of students today appeared in Annual Class 10 examinations across Kashmir with strict adherence to the COVID-19 SOPs.
The students were seen heading towards their respective examination centres in the morning to write their paper that was scheduled to start around noon.
As per JKBOSE officials, 74386 students across Kashmir Valley appeared in the examination for the Social Science paper at over 780 examination centres that were set up for the smooth conduct of the examination on the day.
The officials said that there were already detailed instructions conveyed to the concerned superintendents with regard to the seating arrangement, adherence to the necessary SOPs because of the pandemic.
“The examination was conducted smoothly, proper arrangements were put in place so that the candidates could write their papers at ease; detailed arrangements were made in view of the pandemic and the safety of students was ensured,” Joint Secretary Examination for Kashmir Division, Lal Hussein told Excelsior.
However, on the other hand, the students complained lack of heating arrangements at several examination centres, while appealing to the authorities to ensure the same during the upcoming papers that are scheduled days to come.
