RAJOURI, May 12: In yet another successful operation of its kind against illegal cultivation of Opium crop (poppy straw) in less than one month, the police destroyed illegal cultivation in an agricultural field in Thandapani Panjgrian village of Manjakote today.
From reliable sources, an information was received regarding the illegal cultivation after which an operation was launched by police team headed by SDPO Manjakote, Nisar Khoja along with Naib Tehsildar Manjakote, SHO Manjakote Manzoor Kohli and concerned Patwari.
During operation, personal from police started searches in the entire area and the field having illegal cultivation was traced. All the spot legal formalities were conducted after which the illegal cultivation was destroyed.
Villager namely, Ghulam Qadir, son of Mohammad Din, resident of Thandapani Panjgrain was arrested and cognizance of the matter has been taken by Manjakote police.
