JAMMU, Jan 5: A 20-year old boy was killed while his sister received serious injuries in a road mishap that occurred today at Akhnoor while in another mishap at Jagti in Nagrota area of city outskirts an unknown male of age about 35 years was injured.
According to a police spokesperson, near Kameshwar Temple in Akhnoor Town a scooty bearing registration number JK02AU-2680 and a Swift car bearing registration number CH01AB-5850 collided head on with each other, this evening.
In the mishap, scooty rider, Sachin Sharma (18) son of Madan Lal, a resident of Channi Targwal and pillion rider (his sister), Bandhana (22) received serious injuries. Both were immediately rushed Sub District Hospital (SDH), Akhnoor, where Sachin was declared as brought dead by the doctors while the injured girl was referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu for specialized treatment.
The body of the deceased has been shifted to mortuary room of SDH Akhnoor.
A case in this connection has been registered at police station Akhnoor. Both the vehicles involved in the mishap have been seized and the driver of the Swift car, who has been identified as Jaswinder Singh, son of Maan Singh, a resident of Garhi in Domana area of city outskirts, arrested.
Meanwhile at Jagti area falling under the limits of police station Nagrota, an unknown man of age about 35 years was injured when the bike bearing registration number JK02BJ-5150 on which he going on, was hit by an unknown vehicle.
The injured man has been shifted to GMCH Jammu and a case in this connection has been registered at police station Nagrota.
