KATHUA, Nov 24: One person was killed and another injured in a road accident that took place at village Ganyadi, in Hiranagar area late this evening.
The accident took place when driver of the school bus bearing registration number JK08B-1066 lost control over the steering and it rammed into a house beside the road, which resulted into serious injuries to bus driver and his assistant.
Both the injured were referred to hospital. But the bus driver succumbed to his injuries while condition of his assistant was stated to be stable. The deceased driver was identified as Surjit Singh son of Gian Singh, resident of Jakhbar, Kathua while the assistant was identified as Balwinder Singh resident of Dinanagar.
As per police report, the school bus was coming back after dropping the school children at their homes after attending a picnic. The police has registered a case and start investigation into the matter.
