One killed, 3 hurt in road mishap; labourer charred to death

JAMMU, Dec 6: One person was killed and three others were injured in a road accident occurred today in Gho Manhasa area of city outskirts while a migrant labourer was charred to death in Hazuri Bagh area falling under the jurisdiction of police post Pounichak.
According to the reports, four persons on-board a Creta car bearing registration number JK02CM-0010 were on their way towards Gajansoo from Gho Manhasan via Ring Road when due to over-speeding, the vehicle overturned at some distance from Gho Manhasan.
In the mishap, which occurred around 12:30 AM today, the driver of the car as well as other three passengers received serious injuries. They were immediately rushed to Government medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where one of the injured namely Suman (45) wife of Jatinder Singh of Gho Manhasa, was declared as brought dead by the doctors.
The condition of the other injured persons namely Harsh Dev Singh (20) son of Jatinder Singh of Gho Manhasa, Gagan (26) son of Kuldeep Singh of Gho Manhasa and Haqeet (46) son of Mohal Lal Choudhary of Gajansoo, admitted in the Hospital, was stated to be stable.
A case in this connection was registered at Police Station Domana and further investigation started while the dead body of the deceased was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites after conducting autopsy.
Meanwhile, a mysterious fire broke out this evening in a ‘jhuggi’ (make-shift house) at Hazuri Bagh under the jurisdiction of Police Post Pounichak. In the mishap, a 60-year-old labourer namely Sehdev Yadav, resident of Chattisgarh (at present Hajuri Bagh, Jammu), was charred to death.
The burnt body of the deceased was sent for postmortem while inquest proceeding in this connection was initiated by Police Post Pounichak.
