DODA, May 6: Police here today foiled an attempt of unlawful transportation and sale of petrol and diesel and arrested a man in this regard besides seizing the vehicle involved in the crime.
Acting on reliable inputs that one Nayemtulla, son of Shabir Ahmad, resident of Kastigarh, was involved in unauthorized purchase and sale of petrol and diesel without any valid license or permission, cops from Police Station Doda laid a Naka and intercepted the car of Alto make bearing registration number JK06/7914 carrying cans of the fuel from Doda to Kastigarh for illegal trade.
While checking the car, cops led by SHO Police Station Doda recovered about 225 litres of petrol and diesel which were being transported in violation of the prescribed norms.
The accused was arrested on the spot and the vehicle used in commission of the offence was seized.
Accordingly, a case in FIR with number 108/2026 under Sections 3/7 of Essential Commodities Act was registered at Police Station Doda and investigation started.
