KATHUA, Aug 25: Cops today recovered 50 kg poppy straw commonly known as Bhukki and arrested a person in this regard.
According to police sources, Shind Pal son of Raghubir Dass resident of Ward number-14 Hatli Morh, Kathua was caught at a police checking point when he was moving with poppy straw loaded in car of Ford Ikon make bearing registration number JK08-5627.
Police has arrested the drug smuggler under relevant sections of NDPS Act and started investigations.
The car used in shifting poppy straw has also been seized.
