One held for posting ‘unlawful’ messages on social media

RAJOURI, June 29:  A social activist hailing from Budhal area of district Rajouri,  was arrested for allegedly posting ‘unlawful messages on social media with the motive to create hatred and communal tension in the area.
A police spokesman said that a social-cum-political activist,  was arrested from Budhal area by police for allegedly posting unlawful messages on Facebook , Whtsapp and other social media networks.
They said that the accused identified as Mohd Farooq Inqallabi, resident of Budhal has been booked at Rajouri Police Station under Sections 153 RPC and Section 13 and 18 of Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.
”The accused for the past some time was posting messages on social media to conspire or knowingly facilitating the commission of  terrorist act,” they said.
Police further said that said that posts like ‘Azadi’ and ‘Liberation of Kashmir’ was found posted on social media.  He was summoned to the police Station and later arrested.
Meanwhile, some people from his home village Kewal, about 6 kms short of Budhal blocked road for some time and held protest demonstration,  demanding his release. Later. police party led by SHO Budhal reached the spot   and cleared the road.
