RAJOURI, July 31: One person was killed while eight injured in two separate road accidents in Rajouri district today.
Official sources said a bike collided with a car near Dalogra in Rajouri area tonight causing serious injuries to the two bike riders. They were rushed to GMC Rajouri by police where one of them was declared as dead. He was identified as Ajay Kumar (28), son of Krishan Lal, resident Dhawan near Lorekote in Rajouri. The injured Sushil Kumar from the same village was undergoing treatment in the hospital. The car driver escaped from the spot. The police identified as vehicle as JK02BG/9080
Another report said that a Tempo Traveler bearing Registration No. JK 20/7640 met with accident in Kandi area in which at least seven persons were injured.
All the injured were shifted to CHC Kandi for treatment. Whereas conditions of some was serious and they were referred to GMC Rajouri for further treatment.
Those who referred to GMC Rajouri were identified as Mohd Rafi, son of Hakim Din from Hassote; Des Raj, son of Dhani Ram from Tulli; Chuni Lal, son of Lochan Singh from Tulli village; Leela Devi, wife of Chuni Lal from Tulli; Balwant Singh, son of Anant Singh from Gota; Zera (4), daughter of Mohd Rafi from Chhital; Zareena, wife of Sleem from Kala Ban in Tehsil Chassana and driver Kartar Chand, son of Suba Ram from Rajouri.
SHO Kandi, Insp Habib Pathan reached the spot with policemen and evacuated injured whereas BMO Kandi Mohd Iqbal Malik shifted serious patients to GMC Rajouri for specialized treatment.
