Omar takes stock of party activities in Kargil through video conference

SRINAGAR, July 9: National Conference vice president Omar Abdullah today interacted with party’s Kargil unit through video conferencing where party affairs were prominently deliberated upon.
Party’s chief spokesperson Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, provincial president Nasir Aslam Wani and treasurer Shammi Oberoi were also part of the interaction.
While interacting with Kargil unit functionaries which included former Minister Qamar Ali Akhoon, CEC Kargil Faroz Ahmed Khan, district president Mohammad Haneefa Jan, former MLC Syed Ahmed Rezvi, vice president Ghulam Rasool Nagvi, general secretary Zakir Hussain, youth president Mohd Abbas, Omar took stock of the party activities there.
The NC vice president appreciated the Kargil unit for their perseverance and conviction during the most trying times and hoped that the unit will keep up with the hard work and dedication towards making the party stronger at grass roots level. He said, “We are in an unprecedented situation, which calls for a unified approach based on compassion and the spirit of togetherness, the trademark of our politics.”
Omar also inquired from the functionaries, the working of the party unit and its retort to the prevailing COVID-19 crises. He also asked the functionaries to share the trepidation of deprived and needy and offer support in whichever way they can. In his interaction with the functionaries, he underscored that the primary duty of the political class was to serve people and that during prevailing crises like situation it becomes more obligatory for party workers, functionaries to be in constant touch with people.
