Omar Govt strengthening rural economy and education: Sajjad Shaheen

BANIHAL, Apr 20: National Conference leader and MLA Banihal, Sajjad Shaheen, today highlighted the sustained commitment of the Government led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah towards strengthening the rural economy and ensuring inclusive development.
The MLA was addressing during a public outreach programme organized at the remotest village Mahu in Tehsil Khari.
A free medical camp was also organized by Health Department in collaboration with 23RR Khari, where a large number of people from Mahu and adjoining areas availed medical consultations and basic healthcare services.
Addressing to the gathering, Sajjad Shaheen highlighted the revolutionary developmental initiatives undertaken during the past one year in the Banihal-Gool constituency.
“Remarkable progress has been achieved across key sectors including education, healthcare road connectivity, hydro-power projects, sports infrastructure, bridges and other developmental works, significantly improving the quality of life for the people,” he said.
The MLA further welcomed the passing of the Bill for establishment of private universities in Jammu and Kashmir, terming it a landmark step that will attract investment in the education sector, expand academic opportunities and create employment avenues.
Shaheen also lauded CM Omar Abdullah for his visionary announcement of establishing National Law Universities (NLUs) in both Jammu and Kashmir, stating that these premier institutions will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of youth by providing quality legal education and opening new career pathways in the years to come.
Reiterating the Government’s commitment, he emphasized that such initiatives reflect a holistic approach towards development, combining economic growth, social welfare and educational advancement.
Tehsildar Khari, ZEO Khari, BMO Banihal, CHO Ramban, CAO Ramban, RO Banihal, SDAO Apiculture, SHO Khari were also present during the function.
