JAMMU, Apr 20: Dogra Brahmin Pratinidhi Sabha Channi Himmat organized an award ceremony, here today, wherein some prominent persons from the Brahmin community were honoured for their contribution to the society.
The event brought together Vedic scholars, heads of various religious and social organizations, poets, prominent personalities, students, former bureaucrats, and media persons.
The Sabha honoured former Director of Health, Rakesh Magotra, social workers Pran Nath Kaul, O P Sharma, and Radhey Sham Sharma, praising their contributions to the upliftment of people, literature, and social work. They were honoured with mementos.
Shri Shri 108, Mahant Anup Giri Ji Maharaj, former Director of Health Rakesh Magotra, retired Chief Engineer O P Dubey, retired Municipal Commissioner Saujanya Sharma, President of the Dogra Brahmin Pratinidhi Sabha Channi Himmat Sunil Sharma, and Ved Prakash Sharma, President of DBPS Parade, were present.
On this occasion, Ved Prakash Sharma praised the efforts of Channi Himmat Brahmin Sabha for organizing such a colourful “Samman Samaroh” (honor ceremony), which was specially attended by many prominent personalities and heads of various religious and social organizations.
Speaking on the occasion, Sunil Sharma emphasized the need to give due respect to Brahmins who have done so much for society and the country. He also stressed on the promotion of moral values among Brahmins, eradication of drug addiction which is rapidly increasing among the youth, celebrating various occasions like Parshuram Janmotsav, National Day and cultural programmes with unity and coordination, and preserving Dogra culture and heritage.
