NRHM to construct model hospitals in Reasi, Mahore

REASI  Aug 1: In a bid to provide better healthcare facilities to the people living in the remote areas of the State, the district unit of National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) is planning to construct 2 model hospitals in Reasi district.
This was informed by District Development Commissioner Reasi Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, who is also chairman, District Health Society, Reasi, during the Pre District Vigilance Monitoring Committee meet held here today.
He said that these new model health care centers will be in addition to 18 other such healthcare centers in the district which are already under construction. Besides, the construction of 2 model hospitals is in progress and are expected to be operational soon.
These hospitals will be equipped with all the modern amenities as per the Indian Public Health Standard (IPS) such as a high-tech laboratory, Out Patient Department (OPD), Indoor Patient Department (IPD), emergency, operation theatres with advanced machines and technologies. These model hospitals will have 100 beds capacity at Reasi and 50 beds at Mahore.
The DDC said that the basic objective of constructing model hospitals in the State is to provide better healthcare facilities to the people residing in far-off areas of the district. There are very few health centers in the remote areas as a result of which people cannot avail good healthcare facilities. Besides, 3 Primary Heath Centers, 15 Sub Centers are on the verge of completion and will be made functional soon,” he informed.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Reasi Bikram Singh Jamwal, CMO Dr. Arun Sharma, DSW Rafiq Jarral, Tehsildar (HQ) Dr. Manmeet Motten, CEO Tarsem Lal, DIO Reasi Parvinder Kour, AD Megha Bagoia, EO Municipality Thakur Das and all Block Medical Officers.
