Notice to 2 candidates for MCC violation

REASI Nov 21: BJP candidate from Reasi Ajay Nanda and Independent Candidate Karnail Singh were today served a show cause notice by a poll official for allegedly operating vehicles – without requisite permission.
Ajay Nanda and Karnail Singh have been asked to explain by November 21 as to why action should not be taken against them for violation of the Model Code of Conduct.
In another notice, Returning Officer, Reasi Tilk Raj Shastri has stated that the Flying Squad, during its inspection found Election Material of independent candidate Baldev Raj Sharma transported without permission and those present there could not produce documents when demanded.
He said that transportation of election material without requisite permission is violation of Model Code of Conduct, adding that Election Commission of India is serious about the violations of MCC and action will be taken against the defaulters under the election laws.
Returning Officer (RO)-58 Reasi seized two vehicles carrying election related materials like banners, posters for campaigning purposes after taking cognizance of violation of Model Code of Conduct.
