Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Apr 20:   JK Teachers Forum chairman and president EJAC,  Abdul  Qayoom Wani while lauding the  new transfer policy said that if the policy is implemented with good spirit, it shall prove very fruitful for the Education Department.
During a meeting  of the members held here today, Mr Wani pointed out that  non- inclusion of  ReT teachers  in transfer  policy, has disheartened the thousands of teachers who have been serving at one place for the last 5 to 15 years and have developed mental agony due to stagnation.  It was  pleaded that ReTs in general and lady teachers in particular be brought in the ambit of transfer policy to fulfill the justice and the transfer policy will infuse a new spirit in Education Department. The step motherly treatment metted out to ReTs shall prove counter productive and detrimental to the interests of students, he maintained.
The speakers during meeting observed that to put an end to political interference, corruption and favouritism on war footing,  is the need of the hour, if such things are eradicated from the department. They said that steps taken for the  benefit of students by the  Education Minister shall be welcomed and supported.
They said the posting of KAS officer as Joint Director School Education Kashmir and deputation of officers to BOSE outside School Education Department is welcome step. They said the department is full of efficient and capable officers and there is no need to import officers from other departments or Administrative services.
It was also strongly urged during the session that the Director should be from the department and Education bodies have been repeatedly urging the same to the  higher authorities.  The  Teachers Forum and School Education Officers Forum under the banner of School Education Co-ordination Committee shall carry out a strong programme if the demand is not considered.
Chairman of the  Forum appealed the teachers to participate en-mass in the protest rally of  April 25, to  protest for non-payment of salaries for the last 8 months.
