NEW DELHI, Jan 15:
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today categorically asserted that business with Pakistan could not be as
usual after the barbaric beheading of an Indian soldier in Poonch recently.
Talking to reporters at an Army Day function, Dr Singh, in a strong message to Islamabad, said perpetrators of the crime had to be brought to book and ” I hope Pakistan realises this.”
On being asked that Pakistan was in denial mode regarding the incident, the Prime Minister said,” We will keep trying.”
In reply to a question whether the peace process with Pakistan would be halted now, Dr Singh quipped that he had already made it clear that business with Pakistan could not be as usual.
He said the government point of view on the incident had already been articulated by Defence Minister A K Antony and Army chief Gen Bikram Singh.
