JAMMU, Dec 28: 229th Nirwan Diwas of Swami Shiv Ram Ji, the first Mahant of Uma Bhagwati Asthapan, Brariangan Umanagri in South Kashmir district of Anantnag was observed at Sharda Peeth temple Bantalab.
On the occasion a Maha Yagya/Jag was solemnized by Uma Bhagwati Asthapan Trust. The Hawan started in the evening of December 26 and culminated with Puranahuti next day. A large number of devotees attended the function and they were served with prashad after Puranahuti.
Sanjay Pandita president of the Trust briefed the gathering about the life of Swami Shiv Ram Ji and history of Uma Bhagwati Shrine.
