NIA arrests OGW

Srinagar, Dec 16: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) today arrested one person during raids in Srinagar and Sopore areas of Kashmir taking the total number of arrests made in a case of conspiracy of militants to carry out attacks in different cities.
The statement said that the agency conducted searches at multiple locations in Kashmir and arrested an accused in a militancy case (RC-29/2021/NIA/DLI) registered earlier this year and under which 28 persons were arrested so far.
The NIA assisted by Jammu and Kashmir Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) said that they conducted searches at four locations in Sopore and Srinagar in Kashmir and arrested one accused person Irfan Tariq Antoo of Kral Tang, Sopore in district Baramulla.
The statement said that the case relates to conspiracy for undertaking attacks in J&K and other major cities including New Delhi, by cadres of Laskhar-e-Toiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM),Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM), Al Badr and their affiliates such as The Resistance Front (TRF) and People Against Fascist Forces (PAFF).
The NIA had registered the case (RC 29/2021/NIA/DLI) dated 10.10.2021) and initiated the investigation.
The investigation has revealed that arrested accused person is a militant associate and OGW and has been providing logistical and material support to militants.
