KATHUA, Oct 11: A newly married woman died under mysterious circumstances at her in laws house at village Merath in block Barnoti of Kathua district today.
The body of young woman was found hanging in her room. The husband of woman, Sumit Kumar shifted the body to GMC Kathua but doctors declared her as brought dead. The deceased was identified as Sushma Bala, 23, wife of Sumit Kumar a resident of Village Mearth of Barnoti. Her husband fled away from the hospital abandoning the body there.
The parents of newly married woman reached at GMC Kathua and protested against her in laws and accused them of murder. The wailing and sobbing parents said that they received the phone call of her daughter that she was beaten up mercilessly by her in laws.  After 15 minutes another call was received from her in-laws that their daughter is dead, the added.
The in- laws declared it suicide as body was found handing in her room. But parents held them responsible for the murder and then hanging the body to show suicide case. The parents said that there were regular complaints of their daughter from the date of marriage eight months ago that her in laws were harassing her. The Sarpanch Happy Jasrotia of Mearth also condemned the unfortunate incident of suspicious death of young woman and demanded fair enquiry into the matter to get justice for her.
The Kathua police has registered a case in this connection and called the in laws in Police Station for further investigation and legal action.
