JAMMU, May 2: A young woman fled from Shri Maharaja Gulab Singh (SMGS) Hospital after delivering a male baby.
According to Incharge, police post SMGS, Arun Bhagat, the woman identified as Aayshia (18), wife of Shabir, a resident of Reasi district (as per hospital record), in the wee hours of yesterday delivered a male baby in SMGS Hospital.
Quoting concerned doctors, he said at about 4 pm in the evening, the woman on the pretext of going to washroom fled from the hospital leaving behind her baby and didn’t come back.
He said due to non-availability of complete residential address in the hospital record, the parents of the baby couldn’t be located till now, adding the child is under observation of doctors and police in NICU ward.
The police has registered a case FIR No 27/2015 in this regard and efforts are on to search the parents of the baby.
