*24-hr Dialysis services to be launched soon

JAMMU, July 18: ASCOMS & Hospital, Sidhra has started daily Nephrology OPD services to benefit all the patients suffering from kidney diseases.
The patients suffering from Renal ailments will be benefitted as the Nephrology Department would soon be working round the clock to cope up with the rush of patients seeking Nephrology consultation and intervention. The dialysis services will be provided to both out patients as well as acutely ill hospitalized patients.
The joining of Dr Iqbal Bhat, DM (Nephrology) from prestigious Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi and Post Doctoral Fellowship from SGPGI, Lucknow will benefit the people of Jammu as the quality healthcare services in the field of Nephrology will be available at their doorsteps in ASCOMS Hospital.
Dr Iqbal is a brilliant Nephrologist and Academician par excellence. He has topped many Super specialty examinations and was awarded PK Srivastava Memorial Gold Medal and Sham Sunder Choudhary Gold Medal by the Banaras Hindu University being the Best Passing out Super Specialist in the field of Medicine.
The Dialysis Unit at ASCOMS is presently running at full capacity in two shifts for maintaining Haemo-dialysis and also is complementing J&K Health Services towards the welfare of the patients. The Dialysis unit of ASCOMS has provided services to the patients of GMC when the Dialysis Unit in GMC developed some technical snag last month.
Principal ASCOMS, Dr Pavan Malhotra, said that the quality Nephrology care under the guidance of Dr Iqbal Bhat is being provided to all the patients and hoped that ASCOMS will keep on providing quality healthcare to the patients of Jammu & Kashmir.
Davinder Batra, Joint Secretary ASCOMS informed that keeping in view the present scenario of the Dialysis Unit, the Hospital will be expanding the unit soon and more machines will be put in place for the benefit of the patients. He further said that the expansion of Dialysis Unit is on the top priority of the management of Hospital.
