Need based employee of PHE Deptt killed, 3 injured as ambulance plunges into gorge

RAMBAN, Jan 29: A need based employee of Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department was killed while three others were injured when the ambulance they were traveling in skidded off the road and plunged into gorge at Kanga area on Ramban-Gool road.

The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK19-5348 was on its way to Gandri from Ramban, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it plunged into gorge near Kanga area, falling under the jurisdiction of Dharamkund Police Station, resulting into on the spot death of a PHE Department employee and injuries to three others.
The ambulance dropped a patient at DH Ramban and was on its way back to PHC Bhatni, when the incident took place.
After getting information, police team rushed to the spot and with the help of locals shifted the injured persons to DH Ramban, where they were undergoing treatment, when last reports came in.
The body of the deceased identified as Ali Mohammad, son of Mohammad Israel of Kabhi District Ramban was also retrieved from the gorge and handed over to family members for last rites after completing legal formalities.
The injured have been identified as Qutab Din, son of Talib Hussain of Kabhi District Ramban, Wazir Ahmed (driver), son of Saif Din of Kabhi District Ramban and Fareed Ahmed, son of Abdul Rashid of Gandri District Ramban.
A case under relevant sections has been registered at Dharamkund Police Station and investigation started.
