JAMMU, Apr 2: Nami Dogri Sanstha (NDS) today organized a Sangeet Sandhya titled ‘Dr Mulkh Raj Bhamaghi Te Unde Geet’ at KL Saigal Hall, Cultural Academy Complex, Jammu.
The Sangeet Sandhya was composed by famous Composer Suraj Singh, in which Ghulam Ahmed Mir, president, JKPCC, was the chief guest. Jehangir Mir, Deputy Chairman, J&K Legislative Council, was the special invitee.
Ravinder Sharma, Ex-MLC was the guest of honour, Prof Shiv Nirmohi, renowned Historian was the special guest while Om Goswami, Sahitya Academy Awardee, presided over the function. Advocate Dogra Harish Kaila, president, NDS, also shared the dais.
On the occasion, Dr Mulkh Raj was felicitated by all the dignitaries and the title of ‘Sahitya Shree’ was also conferred upon him by NDS.
Addressing the gathering, Ghulam Ahmed Mir, said that Dr Mulkh Raj is also a social worker, as he also serves society with his writings. He hoped that the poet will do big things for society in the coming time, as despite being a Trade Union leader, he always tries to write.
Ravinder Sharma, Jenab Jehangir, Om Goswami and Shiv Nirmohi also spoke on the occasion and commended the role of NDS for its efforts for the upliftment of Art, Culture and Languages.
Yash Pal ‘Yash’ compeered the programme while Som Raj Taroch presented the vote of thanks. The welcome address was given by Capt Lalit Sharma. Dr Chanchal Sharma and Randhir Singh Raipuria read papers on Dr Mulkh Raj Bhamaghi.
Singers —Harbans Singh, Mrinal Gupta, Suraj Singh, Pallvi Koul, Bandana, Sonali Rajput and Dr Chanchal Sharma performed on the occasion. They were accompanied by Joginder Pal (on Tabla), Shivinder Kumar and Sanjay Pashi (on Guitar), Lucky Sahil (on Octopad), Rakesh Anand (on Flute) and Krishan Kumar Johny (on Synth).
Present on the occasion were Vigyan Bharti Kaila, Pushpa Sharma, president, Savitri Kala Kunj, Sanjeev Sharma, SK Jain, renowned Yogacharya, Sham Talib, president Adbi Kunj, Aaresh Om Dalmotra, Satya Paul Gadwalia, MS Kamra, Shambu Ram Pyasa and many others.
