RAJOURI, Apr 2: A young girl was killed while five other persons were injured in a lightning incident during thunder storm in remote Peeri area of Kotranka tehsil of district Rajouri this afternoon.
Reports said that the mishap took place at around 3 pm at Peeri village. A strong beam of light from the sky during the thunderstorm and heavy rain hit a house and caused damage to it. While 18-year-old Mushad Begum, daughter of Ghulam Nabi standing in the Veranda was killed on the spot, five others were injured.
Two of them were shifted to Kotranka hospital while three to the District Hospital, Rajouri. They have been identified as Mohd Farooq (45) and his wife Parveen Akhtar (34), residents of Peeri, both undergoing treatment at Kotranka hospital. Three persons admitted to DH Rajouri are- Mohd Tufail (25), son of Juma; Bagh Hussain (42) and his 11- year-old son, Mohd Javed.
