JAMMU, July 16: Former Minister and president, NCP, Randhir Singh has appealed the Prime Minister to announce the establishment of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and International Airport on the name of Mata Vaishno Devi for Jammu during his visit tomorrow.
He stated this while interacting with media persons after inaugurating the J&K branch of National Front of Indian Trade Unions (NFITU), which is patronized by NCP and headed by Jarnail Khokhar as Chairman for J&K State.
He regretted that Government employees, pensioners, Low paid Government employees and other working class have always been neglected in the State, despite they all along been playing historical role in the socio-economic development of the State.
Singh emphasized for the need of a common platform to address all the workers related issues including regularization of all daily wagers in the State who have completed five years of service and raising the wages of workers to Rs 300 per day because of high prices of essential commodities.
He also demanded the proper management of GPF and CPF accounts of working class and timely payment of their dues. He asked NFITU leadership to organise committees to fight for their rights.
Singh has appealed the Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to call a meeting of NFITU and discuss burning problems of Safai Karamcharis and other working classes.
Krishan Kumar Digra, Vice President, State NCP and Incharge organizational matters and NFITU demanded full implementation of the verdicts of High Court in connection with forest lands grabbed by Ministers and bureaucrats in Jammu and Government lands in Kashmir Valley.
While speaking, Jarnail Khokhar assured to work for the welfare of Safai Karamcharis vis-à-vis other unions related to labour class.
