JAMMU, July 16: Minister of State for Education, Information and Culture Priya Sethi today visited the Sri Ranbir Higher Secondary School, Jammu and inspected the available facilities.
The Minister has adopted the prestigious model school and the school would soon be developed on most modern lines.
Director, School Education Jammu Yasha Mudgal, DG Floriculture, Director Floriculture, CEO, Jammu J K Sudan, Principal Deepak Gupta and other senior officers and teachers were present during the visit.
Underlining commitment to upgrade school infrastructure, Priya said the Government has envisaged the novel concept of model schools to monitor quality of education in a cluster of feeding schools. She said the Ranbir Higher Secondary model school would be equipped with required infrastructure in shape of additional class rooms.
She said academics in the school would be strengthened by providing required trained human resource and introducing innovative teaching tools.
“A new smart classroom equipped with modern IT enabled education tools would be built in the school and an auditorium would also come up for ensuring better teaching experience to the students,” she added.
She said special provision would be made for resource room for differently abled children and library with internet connectivity would also be provided.
While inspecting the school premises, the Minister directed for face lifting of the building and undertaking construction of required additional class rooms besides upgrading the existing school infrastructure. She called upon the school authorities to promote skill development among the students and directed for construction of a vocational education centre in the school.
She impressed upon the school faculty to make teaching-learning process more student centric and directed for adopting activity based learning so as to ensure maximum participation of students in the process. She called upon the teaching faculty to ensure holistic development of students by incorporating extracurricular activities in the school.
