Natrang organizes ‘Children Theatre Extravaganza’

KATRA , July 19: Natrang organized ‘Children Theatre Extravaganza’  at Matrika Auditorium, SMVD University Katra featuring two plays-Roald Dahl’s English play ‘Matilda’ adapted and directed by Aarushi Thakur and Hindi play ‘Remix’ designed and directed by Sumeet Sharma.
Both the plays were the products of Natrang Children Summer Camps which Natrang organized at its Studio Theatre and K.C. Sports Club.
Sangeeta Gupta Principal Commissioner Income Tax was the chief guest on the occasion.
Earlier welcoming the august gathering Natrang Director thanked Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra supporting Natrang endeavour in hosting Children Theatre Extravaganza in the University.
The first play Matilda was based on Roald Dahl’s novel with the same name. The Novel was published in 1988 and has won various Children’s Book Awards. The play was directed by Aarushi Thakur who is a Post graduate in International politics from University of Leicester, UK and a trained actor from Royal Academy of Dramatics Arts London. The story of the play revolves around a brilliant young girl whose senseless and ridiculous parents do not notice or care that their daughter is a genius.
The participants of the play Matilda include Drishti Gupta, Asma Gul, Vastal Khajuria, Arushi, Sanjmee Gupta, Sheen Mahajan, Sanya Gupta, Pranima Fatehpuri, Aayan Sharma, Achyut Sharma, Tulip Verma, Mishika Gupta, Yadaa Gupta, Agrim Gupta, Akshobhya Sharma, Ajay Mahajan, Tejasve Bhat, Navdha Soni, Arnav Vaid, Somya Vaid, Janvika Narshal, Pragya Ganjoo, Sudaksh Raina, Chaitanya Kotwal, Yajvi Gupta, Prashant, Nitish Koul, Sachin Bamba and Mahikshit Singh. The music was done by Agam Kour and the lights were done by Rajan Thakyal.
The show was managed and coordinated by Neeraj Kant, Mohd. Yaseen, Ankush Lakhnotra, Shivam Singh, Syed Mudassar Ali, Ashwani Bali, Kritika Singh and Rohit Sharma.
