Quoting some chapters of a book titled “Kashmir, Past and Present”, Dr Bharat mentioned that after police resorted to firing, the rioters spread in every nook and corner of Srinagar city and started attacking minority community. Three Hindus were also killed and one woman namely Durga was kidnapped by the rioters, he said.
Maj General (Retd) S K Sharma threw light on the importance of celebrating Kargil Vijay Diwas. He said that victory during Kargil conflict was important in many aspects because it was a battle to throw out Pakistani soldiers who had infiltrated into Indian soil in the guise of infiltrators.
